Key Programs and Services
The Wheat Marketing Center (WMC) exists on the technical crossroads of the international wheat industry, providing technical training and grower workshops, innovative research, product development, and crop quality testing services. WMC focuses on promoting U.S. wheat by demonstrating its quality and functionality in Asian noodles, crackers and biscuits, tortillas and flatbread, and other baked products. Pilot scale production lines (pictured above), state-of-the-art quality testing equipment, and rich technical expertise provide great value to our state wheat commission partners, wheat industry stakeholders, and millers and food manufacturers around the world.
This Week: April 29-May 5
This week, the Executive Team of the Japan Flour Millers Association embarked on a Pacific Northwest tour, visiting the Wheat Marketing Center (WMC) in Portland. The tour was organized by US Wheat Associates. The Oregon State University Food Innovation Center is collaborating with the WMC Technical Team to host an immersive Baking Science Workshop. This workshop was thoughtfully designed for a diverse audience, including enthusiastic hobbyists, home bakers, and industry professionals. Participants delved into the intricate scientific aspects of grains, flour, and the art of baking.

Staff Spotlight: Bon Lee Retired After 25 Years
After 25 years of service at Wheat Marketing Center, Bon Lee retired at the end of October 2023. It is hard to convey our gratitude for his profound contributions to Wheat Marketing Center and the entire wheat industry over the past 25 years. The staff and board offer best wishes on a happy retirement.
